حرفة تونسية أصيلة · L'artisanat tunisien authentique

Gamra was born from a love of Tunisian craft passed down through generations. Our story begins in the souks and palm groves of Tunisia, where the couffin — the handwoven palm basket — has been made by hand for centuries.
Every Gamra piece is woven entirely by hand from natural palm leaf and esparto (halfa) grass by master artisans across Tunisia, from Nabeul to Kairouan and the island of Djerba. The fibers are harvested, sun-dried and split by hand, then patiently woven over hours — a slow craft measured in care, not minutes. Because each couffin, basket and bag is made by a single weaver, no two are ever exactly alike.
Today we bring that authentic, handwoven Tunisian craft to homes around the world. We partner directly with the artisans who make every piece, so each purchase keeps an ancient tradition alive and supports the families who carry it forward — natural, sustainable and made to last for years.
